Practice Focus
With over 25 years of experience representing injury victims throughout New York City's five boroughs and across New York State, Jonathan Ratchik has built a personal injury practice centered on pedestrian knockdowns and hit-and-run accidents, with a particular concentration in Manhattan (New York County) and Brooklyn (Kings County). His hit-and-run work includes claims through the Motor Vehicle Accident Indemnification Corporation (MVAIC), which gives injured New Yorkers a path to compensation when the driver who caused the crash cannot be identified.

Jonathan also represents clients injured in car accidents, trip and falls on dangerous sidewalks, elevator accidents, and falls on hazardous staircases.
His nursing home negligence cases focus on two recurring forms of harm: pressure ulcers (bedsores) that develop when staff fail to turn and reposition residents or when a facility is understaffed, and falls caused by poor supervision or a lack of assistance during transfers.

His wrongful death practice arises from fatal motor vehicle crashes and pedestrian knockdowns, and from nursing home negligence, including cases where untreated pressure ulcers became infected. Jonathan litigates in the Supreme Court of the State of New York in New York, Kings, Queens, Bronx, and Albany Counties, and in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Results
Jonathan has recovered tens of millions of dollars on behalf of accident victims and their families.
